CLUB MEETINGS AND EVENTS

The pleasurable working-lunch format, beginning at noon with preprandials with management, plated luncheon at 12:15PM and ending at 1:30PM sharp has been a mainstay from the beginning. The format encouraged good attendance (usually 70-90), and, as a result, a great many companies come a long way to meet with us, fully cognizant of the benefit of having visual contact with active members of the investment community. Our 115 dues-paying members are all full time investment professionals.

Toronto is ranked 7th and Montreal is 15th in terms of funds managed for the stock market.

During the first few months of the club's existence, all of the significant Canadian resource companies dually listed on the TSE and the American Stock Exchange made presentations to our growing audience of investment professionals in Toronto and Montreal, Ottawa and Vancouver. Among them were Stan Milner of Chieftain Energy, Lorne French of Imperial Oil, Dave Seaman of Bow Valley Resources, Bill McGregor, founder of Numac O&G, Trevor Eyton of Brascan, and Occidental Petroleum's Armand Hammer.

To this day we continue to meet regularly with senior members of the oil and mining industry, including Jim Kinnear of Pengrowth, Eric Tremblay of Enerplus and John Driscoll of Advantage Energy and NAL Income Trust who are active in providing income trusts suitable to clients of AMEX/STOCKBROKERS CLUB members. In fact, when each of our guests made their first presentations to us in Toronto and Montreal, these companies were completely unknown to our members. Having raised their capital through Bay Street financial planners, almost every one of our regular members in each city had all of these companies' shares on their books one year later .

Subsequently, many companies made the first of many yearly visits and, in many cases, meeting with AMEX/STOCKBROKERS CLUB groups in Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa and in our other locations across Canada was the main reason for their visit.

- Mitchell Development from Houston, made 12 consecutive annual visits starting from 1982;
- AFLAC of Columbus Georgia has presented to us 13 times.
